Course Description

Many clinicians rely on their intuition when attempting to motivate their clients. Unfortunately, many common “motivating” practices can make clients feel more controlled. This webinar will review motivational concepts and approaches that have been shown to support positive, autonomous forms of motivation in a wide variety of populations and contexts.

Meet the Presenter:  Michael Biel, Ph.D.

Michael Biel is Associate Professor at California State University, Northridge and a senior speech-language pathologist at UCLA Medical Center. He is also the current chair of the ANCDS Certification Board and host of the ANCDS Podcast. Michael began practicing in 1993. His current practice focuses on outpatient aphasia rehabilitation.
