Did you know that congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) causes approximately 25% of hearing loss in newborns? What’s more is that with CMV being a virus, it is preventable, but only 9% of women have even heard of CMV and even less know how to prevent it. Join the 3rd CMV Public Health and Policy Conference to be held in nearby Burlington, Vermont September 23-25, 2018 (cmv.usu.edu). Since hearing loss is the most common symptom of CMV, it is paramount to have involvement from the newborn hearing community (e.g., screeners, audiologists, ENTs, early intervention, public health).
The 2016 conference was a great success with one attendee stating, “Great to see parents and professionals working together with a common cause and a common understanding.” Another stated “Loved this conference. Very well done and very helpful!”
Register! for the conference today and learn about ways you can help reduce the number of babies born with CMV!
We look forward to seeing you there!
