HB843 Hearing on November 5th

  • 05 Nov 2015
  • 1:00 PM (UTC-03:00)
  • Massachusetts State House, Room A-2, 24 Beacon Street Boston, MA

The hearing with the Joint Committee on Financial Services for S.485/H.843 An Act Relative to Cognitive Rehabilitation is next Thursday, November 5th. This bill would require private insurance companies to cover post-acute cognitive rehabilitation for individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injury—that means better access to care for people who need it!

If you haven’t already, write to the Committee members to show your support in just a few easy steps:

1.      Click this link to access the form

2.      Enter the requested information

3.      Personalize the letter if you wish with a few words about why this bill is important to you

4.      Send!

You can also share your story! If you or a loved one has been impacted by a brain injury or if you are a healthcare professional, share your experiences with legislators. Whether coverage for post-acute cognitive rehabilitation services was denied or whether they were covered and provided, your story can help! Go to https://biama.wufoo.com/forms/cognitive-rehabilitation-bill-s485h843/ to share your experience!

Also, the public will have the opportunity to testify at the hearing. Should you wish to testify, please bring your testimony in writing and summarize it orally before the Committee. Testimony must be succinct and no longer than three minutes. If you are interested in testifying before the Committee, please contact Kelly at Kbuttiglieri@biama.org for more information. If you do not wish to testify, you can still attend the hearing and show your support by being there. The hearing is tentatively scheduled for 1:00pm, Thursday November 5th, in the State House, Room A-2.

If you attend the hearing to testify or to observe, please wear a shade of blue to show your solidarity!

Thank you for your support!
