2015 Boston Area Walk for Children with Apraxia of Speech

  • 08 Aug 2015
  • (UTC-04:00)
  • Borderland State Park

Susan Keaney of Foxboro is coordinating the 2015 Boston Area Walk for Children with Apraxia of Speech event on Saturday, August 8th at Borderland State Park. All proceeds will benefit important apraxia programs and research of the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA).

Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a very challenging and complicated neurological speech disorder in children. This little known disorder makes it difficult or impossible for children to accurately produce sounds, syllables, and/or words despite having a good understanding of language. The Walk for Children with Apraxia of Speech® is held across the country as a means to heighten awareness and funding.

The Boston Area Walk for Children with Apraxia of Speech is open to all adults and children. On-site registration and check-in on August 8th begins at 9:15 AM, with the walk starting at 10:00 AM. Anyone interested in registering, making a donation, or learning more about the event can contact apraxiaboston@gmail.com or visit the event website at http://casana.apraxia-kids.org/bostonwalk
