Please join us on Tuesday, 3/31 at 7pm in room G3 of The Heller School at Brandeis University for a showing of "Anita."
In ANITA, acclaimed Argentine filmmaker Marcos Carnevale tells the remarkable story of a young woman with Down Syndrome whose routine life in Buenos Aires is tragically disrupted by the horrific 1994 bombing of the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association. As Anita wanders through the city following the attack she not only learns to care for herself, but touches the lives of those around her. A panel discussion about Down Syndrome will follow this inspirational film. Panelists will include Tom Sannicandro, Lurie Doctoral Fellow and Massachusetts State Representative, JoAnn Simons, CEO of the Cardinal Cushing Center, and John Anton, a self-advocate and staff member in Rep. Sannicandro’s State House Office. Refreshments will be provided.
