The PECS Level 2 Training is perfect for anyone who has previously attended the PECS Level 1 Training (PECS Basic Training) and is currently implementing PECS.
The training begins with a quick overview of the PECS Protocol, as well as a brief review of the Pyramid Approach to Education. Next, the concept of communication across the day is explored. Oftentimes, your presenter will allow the audience to break into small groups, so that each team has time to discuss how to best capture or create additional PECS opportunities across the day. We provide some of our favorite forms to help teams ensure that they are creating lots of opportunities for communication!
Another major focus of this training is to review, practice and problem-solve implementation at each of the six phases of the PECS protocol. You will have the chance to practice many of the PECS phases, with specific feedback provided by the presenter. Common implementation problems are also discussed. Participants are highly encouraged to share their personal experiences. A significant amount of time is dedicated to ensuring that all participants leave the training with new ideas for continued student progress.
Advanced PECS Lessons are also described during this training. Your presenter will give you many new ideas for attribute lessons, including great ideas for color, shape, size and even texture lessons. Advanced language lessons are also explored, with a framework provided for teaching advanced concepts such as prepositions.
