Description:

This three- day course is designed to introduce the speech therapist to manual therapy evaluation and treatment principles and techniques. The fascial system and myofascial release techniques are the primary emphasis, though all types of manual therapy will be discussed. The course will concentrate on general palpation skills as well as a 6-step protocol for voice and swallowing patients.

Sunday is open to former graduates of Level I class for hands-on review. There is emphasis on practice of techniques as well as how to integrate these skills into your individual work situations. Lunch on Sunday will be provided and is included in the cost of the workshop.

Attire:
Comfortable, loose fitting clothes. Due to the nature of the work, short finger nails are required.

Times:
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on the first day of class. A continental breakfast will be served until 8:30 a.m., at which time the workshop will begin. Class schedule as follows: Friday May 5th: 8:30-5pm, Saturday May 7th 8:30-4pm, and Sunday May 8th 9-3pm. Class ending times are approximate, and may run late based on class participation. Lunch is on your own from 12-1pm Friday and Saturday and will be provided on Sunday (we will meet and discuss cases/applications during this time).
